Last week my mom and dad flew to Bangkok to visit me. It was a fun, but tiring week. We started in Bangkok and, as always, I quickly grew tired of it.
After lunch with Erin, we headed to Khao Yai National Park where we took a one-day tour and saw a wild elephant, monkeys, waterfalls, hornbill birds and a bright orange snake. Much like the entire week, it was fun but exhausting.
We spent another night in Surin where I showed them all my favorite spots to eat and walk. Then came three nights at my house. The Thais are always looking for my attention, but this fact was multiplied three times with my parents in town. All the little things I’ve grown tired of (long rides in the back of a truck, waiting for Thais to get motivated, old women chewing beetle juice) my parents seemed to love.
It’s a good bet they will be the last visitors from the states I see until I get back. It had been over a year since I’d seen them and will be over another year before I see them again.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for making the trip.
Note: I will likely be adding more photos from my dad’s camera when I get them. Check back.
